Tech Review – Firefox 3.5

The rumors are true. Mozilla has released their new web browser: Firefox 3.5. The newest addition to the Firefox familia is quite useful.

Among other improvements, Firefox 3.5 has some MAJOR speed increases. Mozilla claims that 3.5 is twice as fast as its predecessor, although I haven’t seen quite that much improvement. There’s no doubt in my mind, however, that 3.5 is definitely faster than older versions.

If the speedy improvements aren’t enough to get you to download the new version, then I’ll mention the new crash safety system they have in place. If Firefox crashes, then Mozilla’s new system *should* allow you to choose manually which tabs to open in the restart. Which, of course, is a Godsend if you know which tab it was that keeps crashing your browser.

Firefox 3.5 offers a lot of other nifty little goodies (including a new “porn-mode” that works much like Google Chrome’s), but none of you really care about them I’m sure. Suffice it to say that Mozilla’s newest browser version is amazing, and should be downloaded and installed without a second thought. It truly is better than the older versions and with its add-on abilities, I will use it more than Chrome. I have been using Chrome since it’s release because it was so much faster than other browsers. Mozilla just closed that gap so much that Google is taking the back seat now.

So go on! Go download Firefox 3.5!
