Bluetooth in the iPod Touch

Second Generation iPod touch, that is.  Of course, you’ll need the new OS (3.0) to unlock it.  Then you can have all the wonderful Bluetooth goodness.  It’s so amazing.

Not really.

I’ve been playing with the Bluetooth on the iPod touch, and to say the least, I’m not impressed.  Turning it on and off works fine, and it even finds all the Bluetooth enabled devices I throw at it.  It just doesn’t… do anything after that.  It won’t stay connected to the device and it won’t do anything with the device.  I guess the Bluetooth needs an app to tell it what to do, but no app has come out really using Bluetooth for anything cool.  What we need is an “OmniBluetooth” tool, which would allow you to connect, and use, almost any Bluetooth device.  Now we’re talking.
